  • Collection composed of the papers of Lincoln, Herndon, and Weik, records (1933) of The Weik Manuscript Corporation, and miscellaneous material collected chiefly by Herndon and Weik for use in writing Herndon's Lincoln: The True Story of a Great Life (1889).
  • Papers of Abraham Lincoln consist of correspondence (1833-1865), legal documents (1834-1860), scrapbooks (2 volumes, 1850-1860), one of which Lincoln allegedly prepared for use in his debates (1858) with Stephen Arnold Douglas, and other material. Subjects include national politics, chiefly the presidential campaigns of 1856 and 1860, and Lincoln's law practice in Springfield, Illinois. Lincoln's correspondents include John Bell, Mark W. Delahay, Joshua R. Giddings, Samuel Haycraft, John D. Johnston, Norman B. Judd, Andrew McCallen, Joshua F. Speed, Thaddeus Stevens, Leonard Swett, Richard S. Thomas, John Wentworth, Henry Clay Whitney, Archibald Williams, and Richard Yates.
  • Papers (1849-1891) of William Henry Herndon include correspondence, mss. of writings on Lincoln, interviews, recollections, notes, and other material. Persons represented include Ninian Wirt Edwards (Lincoln's brother-in-law), Charles Friend, Kate Roby Gentry (schoolmate), Mentor Graham (teacher), Dennis Hanks (cousin), John Hay (secretary), John B. Helm (store clerk), Mary Todd Lincoln (wife), Sarah Bush Johnston Lincoln (stepmother), Stephen T. Logan (law partner), Leonard Swett (Illinois lawyer), Frances Wallace (sister-in-law), Robert L. Wilson (colleague in Illinois legislature), and other members of the Lincoln family and Lincoln's schoolmates, law partners, colleagues in law and in the Illinois General Assembly, Whig and Republican party allies, and White House associates.
  • Papers (1830-1927) of Jesse William Weik consist of correspondence, documents, interviews, and other papers. Weik's correspondents include Albert Jeremiah Beveridge, James Cook Conkling, Richard Henry Dana, John Hay, John G. Nicolay, Edward Lillie Pierce, Lyman Trumbull, and Horace White.
