  • Woman whole-length, standing on right, wearing skirt, blouse and hat, man on left, standing, beard, hat, holding a rifle, another man, head and shoulders, seated on ground between them.
Biography
  • The Veale family of Lake Bolac, were originally from England, William and Elizabeth Veale coming to Australia in the 1860s, first living in Queensland then later moving to Lake Bolac (Vic.) in 1874. In 1877 Mrs William Veale and Mrs John Moffatt laid the foundation stone of the present Presbyterian Church, and William Veale Jnr. was the first organist on the treadle organ. The family also operated the Post Office in 1874.
