Summary
  • The world's largest producer of direct reduced iron (DRI), or sponge iron, is India, but build up of partly reduced iron deposits on rotary kilns have been a concern for producers. A modified rotary kiln for carbon-based iron production has recently been developed by Raghuvamsi Technologies. Details on the testing and DRI output of this technology are presented.
