biridge work on the site of the North
Sydney railway station. The begin-
nlng was unostetatious, and in strong
contrast with Saturday's spectacular
ceremony. Punctually at 8.30 this
the corner of Walker and Blue Streets
consultation was held. The first act
of Mr. Bradfield was to take posses-
sion of Bulwarra flats on the corner
of Walker and Blue Streets. These will
be used as the officlal quarters. While
Mr. Bradfield and his engineers were
entering the building the last tenants
were moving their goods out. They
had cut things fine. Others in Blue
street are cutting it fine too, they are
still in possession of their places, but
must be out by to-morrow. At the
back of Bilwarra flats Mr. Bradfield
and his assistants set out a site for
the air compressing plant and storage
sheds and these buildings will be
put in hand at once, so that material
and machinery can be put under lock
and key. Meanwhile the whole area
to be occupied by the North Sydney
railway station will be fenced to the
line of the fencing would be tendered out
this morning. Two 14 by 12 air com-
pressors are to be installed, one at
each end of the tunnel route. The
machines are ready for installation as
