CORIO QUAY WORKS
In connection with the wharf con-
struction works to be carried out at
Corio Quay, a couple of heavy pile driv-
ers are being sent to that locality this
week. One is to be hauled there by road
and another, which weighs about three
tons, was successfully placed on a barge
near the Yarra-street pier yesterday,
and it will be towed across the bay. A
good deal of dredging has been done
already in the neighborhood of the
quay, and directly after Easter the pile-
driving will commence.

NEWS OF THE WEEK.
The Home Rule tableau in the St.
Patrick's Day procession- "A Nation
Once Again"- and the very pretty tent
with a soldier (and a bulldog)- "It's a
long way to Tipperary"- are among the
illustrations of the Irish Festival. Sol-
diers on the way to and at the front,
are again well represented;the rest
of the subjects include picnics and a
wedding, tennis and four generations,
and the Women's Parliament. Special
articles cover most interesting topics:-
War opens the Door to Wo-
men Doctors, Baby's Cold, Don't
Marry a Man to Reform Him,
Ware Domestic Pets, How to Avoid
Ptomaine Poisoning, Some Useful Re-
cipes, The Balanced Ration for Our-
selves. A good many photos, sent in
are crowded out this week:-Eight sol-
diers; a wedding group; Wharflabor-
ers' Group, Warrnambool; two Lorne
groups; three school groups; New Pre-
sident Agricultural Society; St. Mary's
Girls; two crews, Barwon club; and
Horse for Belgian Fund.
