Agnes Gill was the foster daughter of Samuel and May Gill, having been abandoned at the Goodwood Railway station in 1907 with a bottle of sour milk and a note stating that the baby's name was Agnes Daley and that the mother had spent all on baby abd was pennyless. Agnes was sent to the Industrial School at Edwardstown and was soon released into the care of Mr and Mrs Gill.
