Biographies

Geoffrey Thorburn, a reproductive physiologist, was Professor and Chairman, Department of Physiology, Monash University 1981-1996. He originated chronic foetal catheterisation for studying the foetus in utero allowing, for the first time, assessment of the physiological, hormonal and biochemical status of the undisturbed foetus and growth-retarded foetus.
