BOTANIC GARDENS SEATS.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE ARGUS

Sir-As a constant visitor for many years to the Botanic Gardens it has been borne in on me for some time past that numerous seats have been gradually disappearing from the beautiful lines never to reap pear On Sunday the limit was reached

for on entering by the south-eastern pate in Park street not a single so it could be seen on any of the lawns spread out before me Proceeding to investigate the matter more closely I found that on the extensive eastern lawn there was only one to be found on the nearer half and 13 on the half in front of the teams rest house on the southern lawn there were three on the oak lavin seven and on the western lawn none These facts together comprise roughly about half the total lawn area On making my son to the tea house a bolt!

tion of the problem came in sight nor there I found within a radius of 21 Valley no fewer than 20 and in the t i house itself 19 These latter were the pick of the gardens, and were over and above the nu melons i hairs there They were all with one exception wooden and were methodically drawn up to the tea tables and ob VIOUBIV intended to stay there I hope that the latter will be fully restored or replaced on the 11th as on the eastern 24 apes which most effectually catch the afternoon sun and that they will all be woollen us I have discovered that the cold unhealthy iron ones now Tirejioiiderate throughout

-Yours, e
