Over a week and a half agoa clay pit ih Normandy collapsed and entombed two men, Rescue parties discovered a narrow opening through which they were able tu communicate: with the men. Seeing that the cleaning of. the pit would occupy several days they lowered bread cider and tobacco.

Almost immediately a second; collapse occurred and the men were completely cut off, The clearing gangs succeeded in rescuing the men after days.
