JUNIORS DEFEAT YOUNG. Weissel Aaain Brilliant Scores 13 Points

(By Half Way). -

The Young Juniors travelled across yesterday to play a friendly game with the local Juniors. It was their first meeting this year, dospite the fact' i that a good deal of 'talk' had been

indulged in by both clubs throughout the season. Prior to the commencement of the game a challenge from the visitors was placed in our hands, details of which are to be seen 011 this page.' Cootamundra deserved their 19 — 9 win. Their play was far more open than that of their opponents, including, at times, good passing movements The visiting forwards were superior in the early stages, but they toned down a lot n» the game proceeded. On the whole, it. was not a very interesting exhibition of the game, the periods of brightness being interspersed with many dull moments. | Weissel was the outstanding player j 011 the ground; his three tries were all brilliant and showed him at his best. It would be hard to find a player as freso'urc'efnl^ cool, -and ' Mclean' ajtf Ee,. or one enjoying more, popularity

with local football enthusiasts. Yesterday he dummied, side-stepped, outpaced, and generally out-mnnonvrcd the whole of the opposition. Of the 19 points scored, Ihis contribntilon was 13 — three tries and two goals. Watson was the next best, in the backs; Byan and Smith also acquitting themselves well. Faunce was easily the pick of the forwards. Despito his two knock-outs he set a pace that none of . the other forwards followed. He was on, the ball nil the time. Mills gave occasional glimpses of his true form. 1 The visitors' ,,half (Lowe) , proved himself a ball of energy, and was most conspicuous. . He: was fTiequeiitly the eausfc'.of-bift side: being, penalised with his '? over-eagerness. Miller's try was very nice, ' and it was a'pity he did' not get' a- bigger share of the ball; ; Biley, and Wallace showed up to advaniage. . , ? ? . - , - Mr. Olen Evans'. had chaTge of the game. , r. 1 ? ...
