    Excellent work is being done by the Gordon Institute for Boys, the annual meeting of which is to be held this afternoon. The institute endeavours to inculcate principles of self-help and thrift; as exemplifying the first characteristic, photographs taken yesterday show a sturdy type of young Victorians doing their own washing up and making beds. Both operations are performed with housewifely thoroughness. Each of these boys, whether placed in country homes or living at the institute, has a separate Savings Bank account; the total amount to their credit is now £1,118.
