    The alove picture was taken from an aeroplane a few days ago, and gives an excellent idea of the amount of work which has been done by the marine board at the cut at Stephenson's Bend. According to the board's engineer (Mr. H. Burnester) the total length of the projected canal, from the point at which dredging was started to the mid-stream outlet, is 4800 feet.
