    We are pleased to present a photograph of the great roof construction now being completed at the Sydney Stadium from designs by Architect T. P. Sampson. Mr. Hugh D. McIntosh, managing director of the Stadium, Ltd., who has had several world tours, considers that the Stadium will be the largest roofed-in structure in the world. He has nothing but words of praise for the clever work put into the design by his architect. The designing of the timbering is a model of simplicity combined with strength, and the principals and the supports are so interlocked that the whole construction is practically one great web of interlaced members. In the work there is no less than 500,000 super feet of lumber. The roof is built in the form of an octagon--like a big inverted cone. The outer roof is separated from the central roof by louvered lantern lights. The central feature rises ... [ILLUSTRATED]
