Miidura
MILDURA. — A saleyard now
nearing completion at Yelta is
expected to become the leading
sheep selling centre for the
Darling River graziers.
Covering 73 acres, the yards
will have a capacity of 25,000
sheep, beside eight large holding
yards. Four sales a year are
mooted' by Elder, Smith & Co.,
Ltd., and Goldsbrough & Co.,
Ltd.
The yards are in a bend of
the River Murray and adjacent
to a siding where the Victorian
railways will erect trucking fa
cilities.
Built at a cost of £3,500, the
yards represent the culmina
tion of 13 years of planning and
negotiation.
The Wentworth manager for
Elder, Smith & Co., Ltd. (Mr.
P. J. Milner) said that the first
sale, tentatively set for Octo
ber 18, would see a yarding of
15,000 sheep.
