Starting a three-day run at the
Vogue Theatre, Burnie, to-morrow
nignt, is "China Clipper," an excu
ing story of the giant flying boats.
Pat O'Brien, ±toss Alexander,
Huniphrey Bogart, and Beverley
Roberts are in the leading roles.
In support is "John Mead's Lady,'
news reels and shorts completing
the programme.
An entertaining filan, "Can This
be Dixie?" with Slim Summerville
and Jane Withers, will be screen
ing at the Majestic Theatre, Do
vonport, to-morrow night, Satur
day, and Monday. The supporting
attraction, "Bulldog Drummond
Escapes, features Sapper's well
known her o of fiction, with Sir
Guy Standing, Heather Angel, and S
l Ray Milland in the leading roles.
Coming to the Town Hall, Ul
verstone, on Saturday night, is one
of the most popular musical shows
of the year, "On the Avenue." The
cast includes such screen favour
ites as Dick Powell, Madeleine
Carroll, Alice Faye, and the Ritz
brothers. The second big feature
is Clarence E. Mulford's "Trail
Dust," with William Boyd. This
programme will be screened again
on Monday.
Two entertaining pictures will
be seen on the same programme
at the Deloraine Town Hall on
Saturday. They are "College Holi
day" and "Toll of the Road."
Screening at the Latrobe Capitol
'Theatre on Saturday is P. G. Wode
l house's well-known comedy,
"Thank You, Jeeves," starring:
Arthur Treacher. The supporting
attraction is "It Had to Happen,"
with George Raft.
