Q.C.W.A.
DULACCA BRANCH
At the October meeting of the Dulacca
branch of the Q.C.W.A. those Present were
Mealtimes J. A Bell (who presided), P. Q.
Perkins, L. Henderson, K. Bracker and Q.
Yct'totfoon (Jumur). Accounts amounting to
£9/19/10 were passed for payment. A dona
tion or £1/5/ was mado to tho MUes branch
for the rest room fund. This amount repre
sented the proceeds from a dance. It was
decided to hold an afternoon for the children
in December, with a dnnce at night. Pinal
arrangements will be made at the next meet
ing. Fnor to meeting morning tea was
served by member#.
CLIFTON BRANCH
The president (Mrs. H. W. Hlnrichson)
presided at a meeting of members of the
Clifton branch of the Q.C.W.A. on November
3. others present were Mesdames A. Rooks,
p. w. Ernst, A. Vlcary, A. C. Schneider, P. N.
Glllam, w. Hughes, W. G. inwood, C. Cooke,
W. D. Guyford. W. M. Cooke, A. E. Mlsscn,
M. Doherty, J. Ncsbllt, J. IX Imhoff, T.
Olasby, P. G. Hopgood. O. B. Bell, Misses E.
Cooke, M. Cookc, J. Free, M. MeCombc, J.
Ernst, E. ImhofT, E. Bell. A. G. Marshall,
nnd the secretary (Mrs. E. S. Porter). The
president welcomed Mrs. P. W. Ernst and
Miss Joan Ernst, who were attending a
meeting for tho (lrst time. Votes of condol
ence in their bereavements were passed to
Mrs. W. J. Lilloy (Allora) and tho Jackson
family (Nobby). The RedcllITe brnnch wroto
thanking members for a donation of £1/1/-
for their seaside cottage. Mrs. A, Kath (vice-
president for the district) wroto advising
that the president of the district (Mrs. R. G.
Baldock) would accompany her on an official
visit to the branch on November 29. The
president explained that In addition to de
livering on important address to the mem
bers Mrs. Baldock would Inaugurate tho
Younger Set within tho branch. Tho War
wick branch wrote advising that arrange
ments for the November mobile meeting in
Warwick would Include culinary conversations
and cookery competitions. It was decided that
the Clifton branch would be represented. The
president said a new brnnch hnd been
formed nt Cunningham. She thought It waa
wlso to remind members that their active
participation In Q.C.W.A. work wns as neces
sary now as before. While they devoted their
attention to other movements of great mom
ent there still remained tho ordinary work of
tho association to bo fulfilled. Sho read
papers dealing with the C.W.A.'s part In wnr
services. Mrs. W. M. Cooke, who attended
the association's party In Brisbane, gave an
interesting report on the function. The presi
dent dealt with the Divisional President's re
port. It was decided to organise a public
welcome to Mrs. Baldock on her llrst offi
cial visit to Clifton as the President of the
district. At the next monthly meeting five-
minute addresses will be given by members.
Mrs. W. D. Gayford will speak on "The
C.W.A.'s Part In the World." Mrs. A. E.
Mlsscn on "Friendship." Mrs. C. Cookc on
"Loyally," Mrs. O. B. Bel! on "Flowers," nnd
Mrs, A. C. Vlckary on "The Value of Arts
and Crafts." Afternoon tea waa served.
Solicitor: "And why exactly do you
