MINMI.
(From the Newcastle Pilot, May 2. )
Some alarm was created on Thursday last, through
two little girls straying away from home in search of
raspberries. They were the daughters of Mr.
Waddel, engineer, and as soon as they were missed,
search parties were organized to scour the bush on
all sides ; but towards night all anxiety was set aside
by their safe arrival at home, to the infinite relief of
their parents and friends. It appears that Mr. W.
Johnston, while in the bush getting in timber, fell
in with the little wanderers, and took them on to
Wallsend, and on arrival there, Mr. William Perry,
baker, very kindly put his horse into a spring cart
and drove the children over to Minmi.
The works here are progressing very fast, and at
an early day coal will be sent to market.
