    James Nesbitt (B.1812 Aughall, Loughmore. Co.Tipperary. Ireland) arrived in Sydney on 'Sir Edward Paget' Feb 1842, married Catherine Fogarty (B 1828. Clonoulty, Co.Tipperary, who arrived on the same ship) 26.9.1842 at St Mary's Church Sydney. After having their first child in Sydney 1843 (John) the family moved south to the Marulan district, next to the property 'Arthursleigh' .Overtime established their own property "Joama" of approx 129 acres (2 x 40 acres lots & 1 x 49 acre lot, leasehold) after having Michael, Mary Anne & Daniel, his wife Catherine passed away 18.1.1855 James remarried Julia McCarthy on the 9.1.1856 and had 5 more children, Catherine, James, Sarah Anne, Eliza, & William Patrick. The Nesbitt's have been active in the Marulan & Goulburn community ever since, whether it be farming, Hairdressing/ bookmaking, Taxi's, Railways, also sport like Cricket and Football and strongly involved with the local churches and charity groups over the years. All reflected in these newspaper listings.
