    THE first of a course of ten lectures, entitled "Science made easy," was delivered in the Mission schoolroom, corner of Liverpool and Sussex stieets, on Monday evening by Mr. J. H. Maiden, of the London University. There was a large attendance, and Mr. A. Kethel, J.P., occupied the chair. Mr. Maiden chose "Light and Heat" as his subject, and delivered a most interesting lecture, and one admirably suited to the audience. . . . . .
