Bridget and Battista were married on the 1st. July, 1896, at R.C. Church, Yandoit, (St John's) by the Rev. Father McGee. Battista was eldest son of Carlo and the late Maria Gervasoni (nee Formentini), of Yandoit Hills/Creek ; Bridget, second daughter of John and Anne Hallinan, of Fryerstown. Bridget and Battista were both born in the Victorian colony. Bridget's sister, Anne, was Carlo Gervasoni's second wife.
Bridget's mother, Anne Fogarty, 23,(Co. Clare) had been married to John Halanan,26, (Co. Galway) in the Catholic Presbytery@Castlemaine by Fr. Patrick Smyth 29 October, 1865. The surname later standardised to Hallinan. John could write his name, Anne could not. Ann Fogarty arrived Melbourne from Clare, Ireland, "Omega" On the same ship was future mother in law Mary H. and a sister. There were possibly 2 other siblings giving Tipperary origins in the manifest. Family legend says five on the ship together, due to the famine. Anne's brother, Michael Fogarty, also in Australia, farmed at Narioka where he raised a large family.
Battista born at Yandoit Hills/Creek, Bridget Born Fryers Creek. Battista died at Newstead 1941, at 'Rose Cottage', Newstead, Bridget died there in 1951 Buried at the Blessed Laurence O'Toole churchyard, Sandon.

Germano's also known as the home of John Gervasoni (son of Carlo and Annie) and his wife Teeni(daughter of Antonio Gervasoni and his second wife Domenica nee Bianchi). Known in our family as Uncle Johnnie’s and auntie Teeni’s House.
Uncle Johnnie purchased property in 1905 and went to WWI from here. John Joseph Gervasoni enlisted in 5th Battallion, 13th reinforcement , engaged with the 5th Machine Gun Battalion . Saw war service in Egypt and Western Front, embarked ‘Demosthenes’ 19/12/15, returned ‘Richmond ‘ 15/5/19; always told diary in War Memorial, Canberra....not on list.
Dr. Claude Culvenor in the 'Gervasoni’s of Yandoit Creek' wrote that “Built originally as the home of Luigi Germano or Germani by the bridge on the Yandoit Creek above the Sandon Rd. “ He has identified that the property was a mixed farm 18 acres- wheat, peas, oats, potato, 2 acres of vines and 100 fruit trees. Original house of slabs and single roof 20 X 12 with a cellar was replaced at some unknown time by this house."
House may have been modelled on a grubenhut, an ancient saxon form where a large cellar is dug and a house placed on top.
According to Claude Culvenors' book, Germano was married to a Batt, formerly of Tasmania (a sister of the Batt who lived at ‘the Pines’, Yandoit Creek/Hills?, he was killed in a mining accident in the Buckland, Vic. Grave in Buckland cemetery)
