    Australia is the resting-place of the very first exponent of the revolutionary Erard double-action harp, the virtuoso Nicholas Bochsa, who died in Sydney in 1856 during a tour with soprano Anna Bishop. Harp playing flourishes in diverse forms in Australia today.
