Music resources theme - War and Peace in Australia - First World War thumbnail image
    Public

When Australian and New Zealand troops landed at Gallipoli in Turkey on 25 April 1915 many believed and still do that Australia really became a nation. This was the first major land action involving Australians in the Great War.

Music related to the First World War urged Australians to enlist, and asserted national identity in helping to mythologise the Anzac landing. Curated by National Library of Australia staff.
