Join the Trove Book Club!

Literary historian Katherine Bode and bibliographer Carol Hetherington have used Trove to recover lost and forgotten Australian novels hidden in Trove's digitised newspapers. You can read more about this project in a recent Canberra Times article:

In the new Trove Book Club we are going to read and discuss some of these discoveries together.

The first Trove Book Club will take place on Wednesday 28 March. We will all be reading "On The Wrong Track" by Jessie Mabel Waterhouse:]=15555

Jessie Mabel Waterhouse was a popular writer of serial fiction in Adelaide in the 1890s, and her work provides unique insight into life in South Australia. 1893's "On The Wrong Track" is a story of marriage, class and family with hints of Middlemarch and Clarissa.

How can you be involved? First, read the book in Trove! On 28 March we will kick off the conversation on Trove's Facebook, Twitter, and here on the Forum. If you post on social media, use the hashtag #trovebookclub.

You can also correct the text for other readers! The text in the newspaper is complete, but the text in Trove needs some correcting. This is a book club where you can correct the text as you go!

More information on text correcting Trove can be found here:

Enjoy reading "On The Wrong Track", and be ready to join the conversation on March 28! Be one of the first people to read this novel in more than 100 years!
