Dr. Joan Kelly, a pioneer clinician and researcher in the area of children's responses to separation and divorce, addresses questions of how to intervene with parents in high conflict. Dr. Kelly advocates early, active and even mandatory intervention into post separation parenting disputes at both education and clinical levels. Dr. Kelly believes it is possible to prevent high conflict becoming entrenched and talks about incorporating into clinical and mediation work the research findings on the negative impact of entrenched conflict on children.
