Summary
  • More pet store owners should consider using bar coding to make a more efficient inventory control system. About 90% of all pet products carry bar codes as of the first half of 1994 compared to only 80% in 1991. However, bar code usage is not expected to reach 100% because some products are unsuitable for the technology. Bar coding is a relatively simple and inexpensive technology that can significantly benefit pet store owners.
