'The Proceedings of the Royal Society of Queensland' publishes papers dealing with aspects of the Natural Sciences in Queensland, including topics related to environmental conservation, management, restoration or policy. Papers come from a wide variety of disciplines, including geography, botany, zoology, ecology, palaeontology, and archaeology. Papers refer to a range of Queensland environments, including tropical and sub-tropical areas, reefs, rainforests, coastal beaches, inland plains and dryland areas. The Royal Society of Queensland had its first meeting in January 1884 and published its first volume of Proceedings in 1885.
