Summary
  • "Organisations managing relationships with business customers in a dynamic market place face specific challenges if they are to be responsive to changing customer needs. Ideally, it would be valuable to be able to predict when a customer's resource-needs change, and be able to respond to those changes in a proactive manner. However, because business customers are very complex and consist of many 'agents' interacting within an evolving environment, they have proved difficult to model. The thesis draws on strategic management literature and accepted theories of organisational change to develop a theory to explain and predict organisational resource-needs change. Specifically, the key question addressed by this research is: Can changes in small and medium sized enterprise resource-needs be explained and predicted by modelling the dynamics of their strategic behaviour in an evolving market environment? ..."--Abstract.
