In the first story, Matt Peacock reports on John Howard's recent pledge of $10 billion over the next decade to solve the crippling problems of the nation's food bowl, the Murray Darling Basin. While the response from the States has been mixed to Mr Howard's plan to take over control of the Murray Darling, Federal Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd has promised broad bipartisan support. Kerry O'Brien then interviews Malcolm Turnbull, the Minister for Environment and Water Resources, about the government's plan. The program ends with an interview with Tim Flannery, Australian of the Year 2007.
