Notes
  • The cost-effective, large area Carbon Nanotubes and Nanofibers (CNTsâCNFs) film was synthesized on graphite substrate by low pressure and low temperature thermal chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Successful removal of Fe3+ from water by electrosorption of CNTsâCNFs films was achieved. The electrosorption capacities of CNTsâCNFs film electrodes were approximately 3.89â49.3 μmol/g at different voltages from 0.6 to 1.4 V, when the initial concentrations of ferric chloride (FeCl3) are kept around 89.1 μmol/L. The ion adsorption followed a Langmuir isotherm indicating monolayer adsorption.
  • Carbon nanotubes and nanofibers, electrosorption, ferric chloride, langmuir isotherm, capacitive deionization
