Story 2: Vampire Bats have copped a fair bit of press, but new research suggests that a protein found in the saliva of these blood-sucking creatures may actually hold the key to treating victims of stroke. Story 3: The Australian Institute of Sport have teamed up with the CSIRO to develop a remarkable new device for the sport of amateur boxing. It's a "Smart Vest" designed to keep track of the boxer's performance in the ring. Story 4: For her extraordinary research efforts at such a young age, Megan Fabbro was awarded the coveted Cure Cancer Australia Foundation, Young Researcher of the Year prize for 2007.
