Summary
Edith van Hessen began her first diary at the age of thirteen in 1938. A carefree Dutch teenager, she lived with her loving family. Even the German invasion of Holland in 1940 did not immediately theaten her happy-go-lucky existence. But Edith's family was Jewish, and by 1942 it became clear that they were all in danger. Early one morning, Edith was sent into hiding with a family in a small town in the south of Holland... Based on her diaries and her parents' letters, this tells how one girl was saved by the courage of those around her.
