The non-profit EDUCOM Consortium has some 500 colleges, universities, and corporations as members. The consortium is facing changes as it looks for a new home and a new president, and a reorganized staff is planned. Improving member services and outreach programs is on its frontline agenda. Finding corporation dollars to fund special programs for members is counterpointed by the effort to find ways to get members to pay more for services such as its BITNET, the international communications network for higher education and research.
