Summary
Jim Mecklenburger is director of the Institute for the Transfer of Education (ITTE) in the National School Board Association (NSBA), a federation of 52 state school board associations. ITTE tells them current technology news via newsletter and conferences. Mecklenburger actively seeks vendor affiliation with school boards and districts. Special project called Technology Leadership Network comprised of 102 school districts in 31 states and Canada offers ongoing dialogue of information within the network and ITTE. Mecklenburger says the reason schools complain they have no money for technology is that they spend what they have on other things. New spending strategies are needed, he says.
