Summary
  • The first question that must be asked when looking at integrated information services systems to solve an institution's automation support needs is: Will the system provide all the support the institution needs? In today's environment, the answer is likely to be "no," because each integrated system has strengths only in certain areas and is often a composite of various pieces of independently produced software. One solution proposed is customized modification of the package for the user's application; the other is to modify existing procedures to fall within the capabilities of the available packages.
