Notes
  • One Auburn Plainsman Newspaper article announced the upcoming visit of the Women's College Dramatic Club also called "The Pierrettes." The Pierrettes visited Auburn University to perform the production "Honor Bright." The photograph located on the bottom of the page is a clipping from the Glomerata, the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (later the Auburn University) yearbook, recording the day of their arrival and also a day of snow.
  • W. C. GIRLS TOPRESENT PLAYThe Woman's College Dramatic Club popularly known as "THE PIERRETTS", will present "Honor Bright," a sparkling three act comedy, in Langdon Hall on Thursday night, February 13, at 8:00 o'clock. This production is full of fun from beginning to end, and according to a member of the Auburn Players, who saw the play presented in Montgomery, it will furnish the audience with many thrills. The admission will be fifty cents for general admission and seventy-five cents for reserved seats. The advertisement and management of the play is being carried on by The Auburn Players. Mr. Pate, who is business manager of the local club, is largely responsible for the play coming here as he arranged for an exchange of programs between the Auburn Club and the Woman's College Club. Very likely A Strenuous Life, which was presented here last week, will be given at Woman's College about the first of April."Honor Bright" was directed by Mrs. W. W. Dantzler, Jr. There are fifteen girls in the cast andthere will be seventeen in the party that comes to Auburn. In addition to the cast the director and a chaperone will come along. A very interesting thing about the play is that girls will take men's parts. According to individuals who have seen the play, "the Pierretts" taking the male parts impersonate so perfectly that it is difficult to detect that "they are girls."CAST OF CHARACTERS Watts, the Butler—Miss Nell Marshall.Michael, the Chauffeur; Simpson, the Deputy Sheriff—Miss Mary Pullen.Foster, the Gardner—Miss Lucile Green.Mrs. Barrington—Miss Amelia Zobel.James Schooley, of North Platte, Nebraska—Miss Mildred Locke.Mrs. Carton—Miss Helen Ford.
