Clarence Marcellus Barker (1884-1953) was born in North Ogden, Utah, the Newman Henry Barker & Esther Caroline Chadwick. In the spring of 1905 he was called to the Australian mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He, along with his companion, Charles Shaw, sailed to Perth, Australia, arriving in February 1907. They soon proceeded to conduct the first tracting, hold the first street meetings, and perform the first baptisms in Western Australia. He labored in Perth until his release from the mission in the spring of 1908, when he returned to Utah. He married Myrtle Edna Ririe on 24 February 1909. Clarence died in North Ogden on 11 July 1953.
