Summary
This paper is presented in two major parts. In the first half, I want to talk briefly about the origins of the concept of social exclusion, its contested nature and recent manifestation in Australian housing and urban policy. The second section will draw on the findings of empirical research I have been involved in on social inclusion and Australian public housing estates.
