  • MS 7029 comprises family correspondence, personal papers, photograph albums, diaries, invitations and press cuttings of three generations of the Delprat and Teppema families, documenting their lives in the Netherlands, Australia, Argentina and Uruguay. The collection includes letters of Daniel Deprat (1816-1840) and his son F.A.T. Delprat (1820-1933); letters and papers of Guillaume Delprat and his wife Henriette Delprat (1894-1937); material relating to the musical career and travels of Carmen Delprat (1904-1956); personal and diplomatic papers of Peter Teppema (1912-1960); and correspondence of his daughter Tania Teppema (1930-1970). There is also material on Sir Douglas and Lady Mawson. Among the Australian papers are photographs and other items relating to Broken Hill and the Newcastle steelworks (29 boxes, 5 fol. boxes, 2 map folios).
  • The papers comprising Acc02.247 include photograph albums numbered 1-20, a cuttings album, correspondence, documents and certificates, driving licences and identity cards, typescript articles, brochures and publications. The papers relate to Tania V. Teppema, F.A.T. Delprat and D.A. Delprat (1 box, 7 fol. boxes).
  • The Acc09.178 instalment comprises the publication titled Spiegel der Jeugd, in Dutch and published in 1818, presented to F.A.T. Delprat (then seven years old) in 1819, with prize inscription tipped in to front endpaper, and illustrated in colour (1 folder).
Biography
  • Guillaume Delprat (1856-1937), son of General F.A.T. Delprat, Dutch Minister of Defence, was General Manager of B.H.P., 1898-1921. His children included Paquita, who married Sir Douglas Mawson, and Elizabeth Carmen, who married Peter Teppema. Peter Teppema (1890-1960) was a Dutch diplomat who served as the Netherlands Consul-General in Sydney, 1920-1931.
