Biography
  • Art curator, art historian and publisher. Lou Klepac was born in Croatia in 1936 and emigrated to Australia with his family in 1950. He was educated at Perth Modern School and then the University of Western Australia. Klepac worked at both the Art Gallery of Western Australia and then the Art Gallery of South Australia as curator of paintings. After a stint in London, Klepac returned to the Art Gallery of Western Australia and became deputy director. The subjects of these catalogues and books have included Louis James, James Gleeson, Nora Heysen, David Strachan, Frank Hodgkinson, Judy Cassab, Kenneth Jack, Albert Tucker, Jeffrey Smart, and Horace Trenerry.
