The current paper seeks to extend our conceptual understanding of the nature and functioning of the CoI construct. The aim is threefold, namely to provide a succinct state-of-the-art picture of country image research in international marketing, to contribute to a better measurement of the country image construct, and, finally, to develop an agenda for future research. Author Affiliation: Department of Business Administration, University of Vienna, Bruenner Strasse 72, A-1210 Vienna, Austria Article History: Received 1 September 2007; Revised 1 January 2008; Accepted 1 May 2008 Article Note: (footnote) [star] This paper is part of a research project focusing on country image and is financed by the Jubilaumsfonds of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OENB), project number 12288.
