"67 Degrees South is an exhibition of photographs taken by Mawson's Huts Foundation expeditioners while working to preserve Mawson's Huts in Antarctica. Mawson's Huts Historic Site is located at Cape Denison in the Australian Antarctic Territory. As the main base for the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (AAE) led by Douglas Mawson between 1911 and 1914 the site is one of the few surviving bases dating from the Heroic period of Antarctic exploration. Established in 1996 to coserve the site, the Mawson's Hut Foundation... has sent ten expeditions south to carry out conservation work on the historic buildings... This exhibition is a celebration of their work and that of the Mawson's Hut Foundation and features images of the buildings and the sweeping landscapes."--Cover verso.
