Notes
  • Two women are standing outdoors on a stone terrace with walls decorated with urns, and trees in the background. The woman on the left wears a white bonnet with a blue ribbon with yellow and pink stripes. Her dress is white and gray narrow stripes with a peblum. The bodice is fastened with buttons down the front, and has gauntlet cuffs trimmed with buttons, and a high neckline, edged with a lace collar. She holds a pink and purple parasol in her right hand, and she reaches towards the other woman with her left hand. The woman on the right wears a white bonnet with ruching and ruffles and a row of pink flowers. Her dress is wine and metallic mint green with a deep v-neck and wide lapels. The lapels, bodice, upper sleeves, and hem are edged with narrow pleating. The bodice is laced across with white cord. The skirt has two tiers and the lower tier has side detailing laced across echoing the bodice treatment. Under the dress is a white undergarment with a high neck edged with three ruffles, and with narrow white cuffs. She holds a closed, white fan in her left hand.
