The sources of competitive advantage are outlined by linking individual motivation with the performance of firms under market competition at the organizational level. A comprehensive theory of competitive advantage is based on the sources such as influence of tacitness, context specificity and causal ambiguity that determine various types of motivations under different environmental conditions.
