Summary
Today, close to 80% of Aboriginal people call themselves Christian. SBS Television's Vivian Schenker reports on the effect that Anglo-Saxon Christian ideals have had on Aboriginal cultures, and questions what has been achieved. Christian missionaries and churches have been in Australia as long as white people. This documentary discovers that different Aboriginal groups and churches have adapted to Christianity by incorporating their own culture. It looks at how these institutions operate, their facilities, schooling and whether traditional cultures and languages are upheld.
