  • In a sermon, Brigham Young admonishes Mormon women to stop murmuring against polygamy. He states that any women who cannot bear polygamy are free to abandon their husbands and their religion by taking their children and leaving Utah. He explains the doctrine of polygamy and counsels husbands not to abuse their wives.
