Strevens has once again hit the road and gone in search of Australians and their pastimes. He travels with a circus troupe, marches in the Sydney Mardi Gras and tries his luck at a bush two-up school in Kalgoolie. He attends a drovers' reunion on the Northern Territory, spends Anzac Day in Coober Pedy and dances the night away at a dusty formal ball halfway up the Oodnadatta Track. Stevens creates a portrait of Australian life as ordinary people talk about growing up in a family of drovers, dropping out to live in a commune, and what it's like to be gay in country Australia.
