Notes
  • A fusion protein, FX–CBD Cex , which comprises factor X with a cellulose-binding domain (CBD Cex ) fused to its C-terminus, was produced in BHK cells. It was purified from the culture medium by affinity chromatography on cellulose. FX–CBD Cex could be activated to FXa–CBD Cex with Russell viper venom. FXa–CBD Cex was as active as FXa against a chromogenic substrate and against proteins containing the Ile–Glu–Gly–Arg sequence hydrolysed by FXa. FXa–CBD Cex retained its activity when adsorbed to cellulose.
