  • At the death of Sidney Rigdon, the Pittsburgh Telegraph has printed a history of Rigdon’s associations with the Mormons. The story describes how Rigdon obtained a copy of Solomon Spalding’s manuscript of the Book of Mormon and then joined with Joseph Smith to create the Mormon Church. The article also explains Rigdon’s activities in Kirtland, Missouri, and Nauvoo, ending with a description his leaving the Church and moving to New York.
