  • An account of the state of affairs in Utah. A large number of missionaries are being prepared to go to all parts of the world. Brigham Young enjoys the confidence of the people; the Mormons at St. Bernadine have been summoned to Salt Lake City. The Indians are avenging the loss of some of their warriors. A brief mention of treason trials pending in the territory. The Indian Bureau has received dispatches from Brigham Young as Superintendent of Indian Affairs; he reports that they have had peace with the Indians.
