  • Brigham Young has been arrested and is awaiting trial on charges of polygamy, specifically for “cohabiting with one hundred and sixty different women.” The article jokingly implies that Governor George L. Wood, “the Sneezer,” is anxious to remove Brigham Young because he is jealous of Brigham having so many wives. It is reported that Brigham has hired some of the best attorneys and that the Mormons are confident he will be cleared.
